River may rise with the rain (looks out of window) but provisionally a Saturday morning paddle may be in the offing this week 11am at Jackfield.
If you haven’t already renewed your membership bring along this Saturday (in an envelope with payment and a S.A.E), gate code will be changing soon.
Nigel has mentioned the “Clean for the Queen” event taking place over the weekend 4-6 March 2016, he had been contacted by the Ironbridge & Severn Gorge Lions about us being involved in a river clean up.
This event is also suitable for those republicans amongst you as its a clean river as a result.
So put that weekend in the diary and we can confirm something nearer the time when we know more.
On Sunday 7th of June, Staffs and Stone will set up some gates at Jackfield Rapids.
TCC members are welcome to attend, there is a small charge which the funds go to both clubs to cover costs of baler twine etc
The courses will be starting to be set up from 9am and will run through until the afternoon.
(If you are planning on a general paddle down on the rapids that weekend then Saturday maybe a better option)
On sundays 15th and 29th of June, Staffs and Stone amongst others will set up some gates at Jackfield Rapids.
TCC members are free to use the gates and also get some practice ready for the slalom in July.
To one and all.
Just a reminder:
Meet: Dale End Park
Time: 10:30 for 11ish start [well maybe 11:30 start, but extra time to shuttle cars to jackfield]

That is all.
The last river session of 2011 will happen this Sunday 10am until 12 noon at Jackfield rapids.
Pool sessions to start soon at Madeley Court Swimming pool. Keep your eye on the blog for more details.
Ten till midday or thereabouts.
Due to holidays lots of people away, but pencilled in to lend a hand Ade, Paul and Phil. Enjoy the sun and use your skills to avoid any submerged pebbles. Oh and the river is nice and cool had a nice swim today – CJL
To re-commence on 1st Sunday of every month starting with Sunday 5th June 10am – Midday
Twas a chilly day, it was minus something degrees centigrade.
Six souls entered the water and paddled down to the Ironbridge from Dale end park, alas the ice was too thick to pass and a hasty upstream retreat was made back to cars. In the the style of Brian Hanrahan [22 March 1949 – 20 December 2010] all the canoeists and kayakers were counted out and then counted back in again.
