It’s not about plunging paddle in and thrashing your way from A to B. Its the oft used/trotted out cliché of “it’s the journey not the destination”. How you get from A to B determines if you get from A to B.
This is the case if you are talking about paddling from one place to another, or in fact rolling successfully and with ease.
Sure people can and do get from A to B through power and very little grace, same with rolling. However when done with too much force the paddler is less sensitive and they will use more energy than required, and through fatigue can come errors. See links below.
